Sacramento had a tough (and exciting) season finale. Regular season ended in a tie for the division vs Fredericton Astros [niveknight2], forcing the 1-game playoff to determine the pennant and wildcard.
Both starters chased from the game early. Backup right fielder Tony Oliva took Blake Snell deep in top of the 7th, and then Trammel tripled in two RBI’s in the 8th to bring the pennant home for Sacramento.
Final record: 86-77. The playoffs will be an uphill battle every step of the way, we’re only officially the 8th-best record in G.357.
In other news, Team Silver finally acquired rookie SS Dick Groat, who the team’s been trying to sign for quite some time, to anchor Team Silver.
